For immediate release: Sweetwater, TN – August 3, 2019 - The Hurricane, Randy Hannagan from San Jose, California stormed from his ninth place starting position into the USCS/NRA RockAuto.com Victory Lane in the Weekend of Speed and Tennessee State Championship Race at I-75 Raceway on Saturday night. In the process Hannagan clinched the 2019 K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders Championship by a slim margin over Friday night’s victor, Jared Horstman from Cloverdale, Ohio. It was also Hannagan’s career first USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters feature win and second NRA Sprint Invades win of the season. K&N Filters Pole Position starter, Jared Horstman, who was the early leader and was only six points behind Hannagan for the NRA title when the main event started Horstman led the first 15-laps, Hannagan charged into the fourth position by lap four, then third on lap seven. On lap eleven he passed Joey Schmidt from Ellisville, Mississippi for the runnerup spot. He didn’t stop there though and punctuated his title run by racing past Jared Horstman into the lead on lap sixteen and never trailed agan. Chase Dunham from Leispic, Ohio, who clinched the 2019 NRA Sprint Invaders Rookie of the Year title followed that fleet duo in the K&N Filters Podium Award third place. Veteran NRA driver, Tim Allison from Lima, Ohio came across in fourth place and Hud Horton from German Town, Ohio completed the top five. Steve Surniak from Mooresville, North Carolina led the next group in sixth place. USCS Rookie of the Year contender from Olive Branch, Mississippi followed Surniak in seventh place. Eleven-time USCS National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee was eighth followed byLuke Hall from Bradford, Ohio was ninth and Brad Bowden from Hernando, Mississippi. Heat race victories went to Joey Schmidt in the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Luke Hall won the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat. The Butlerbuilt Third Heat was won by Jared Horstman and Tim Allison won the Hero Graphics Fourth Heat. The 15-lap DMI/Bulldog Rear Ends B-Main victory went to Devon Dobie from Wapakoneta, Ohio. The next USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters event is set for Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on Sunday night (September 1st).
