Dillard doubles up in USMTS debut at Jackson Motor Speedway

BYRAM, Miss. (Feb. 24) -- Cade Dillard grabbed the lead from Trevor Egbert just short of the halfway mark, and then cruised to his second straight Summit Racing USMTS Winter Speedweeks victory Friday night at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Miss.

Dillard, who captured last Saturday's finale at the Shady Oaks Speedway, hounded Egbert for the first 18 circuits before using a pair of lapped cars to dive underneath the leader and take control.

From there, the 25-year-old from Robeline, La., went unchallenged the final 22 laps to pocket the $3,000 top prize and his 12th career USMTS triumph.

Tenth-starting Chris Brown continued his early-season surge and came home with the runner-up paycheck, Stormy Scott bested points leader Jason Hughes for third and Egbert held on for a top-five finish.

Zack VanderBeek passed a dozen drivers en route to a sixth-place finish, Travis Saurer went from 14th to seventh, Joe Duvall was eighth, R.C. Whitwell raced to ninth from the 22nd starting spot and Jon Mitchell completed the top 10.
