Badgerland Summer Shootout up next for USMTS road warriors

LUXEMBURG, Wis. (July 5) -- Following an onslaught of huge events in May and June, the stars and cars of the USMTS have had a couple weeks of down time, but things are about to kick into high gear again.

Just six nights of racing are on tap for the Casey's USMTS National Tour powered by S&S Fishing & Rental during the month of July, and four of those take place next Tuesday through Friday, July 11-14, for the Badgerland Summer Shootout presented by Prestige Custom Cabinetry.

It's been nearly seven years since the USMTS visited the Bay Area of Northern Wisconsin, and a great turnout of cars and fans is expected when the fire-breathing dirt modifieds return next week. From the first track to the fourth, it is less than three hours of driving time for the teams and traveling USMTS fans.

Racing will kick off on Tuesday, July 11, at the Luxemburg Speedway, and then Wednesday, July 12, is the series' first-ever visit to the 141 Speedway near Francis Creek. On Thursday, July 13, the USMTS moves around Lake Winnebago to the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway, followed by the finale on Friday, July 14, at the Plymouth Dirt Track.

Drivers each night will battle for a $3,000 top prize, and local drivers will be getting a big bonus thanks to Prestige Custom Cabinetry. An accomplished racer himself, owner Mike Mashl and his company are supporting a four-race points fund for the local racers in the Wisconsin Bay Area competing in the Badgerland Summer Shootout.

Any driver that has raced at least two times at any of the four tracks will be eligible for the bonus money. Drivers will have to race in at least three of the four events to earn bonus money, and points will be awarded by finishing position for locals vs. locals using the USMTS points system.

The USMTS brings some of the toughest competition to dirt tracks around the country, but local racers in Northern Wisconsin are some of the nation's best and knowledge of home track terrains will certainly pay dividends.

The Prestige Custom Cabinetry points fund will be $1,000 cash for the champion of the four-day swing with $700 for second, $500 for third, $400 for fourth, $350 for fifth, $300 for sixth, $275 for seventh, $250 for eighth, $225 for ninth, $200 for 10th, $175 for 11th and $150 for the 12th- through 15th-place finishers in the final standings. This is in addition to any winnings they earn at each event.

Prestige Custom Cabinetry and Millwork, Inc., a family owned and operated full-service custom cabinet company established in 1992 and located in Green Bay, Wis. Prestige quickly became a leader in the kitchen cabinetry and millwork industry, having a strong customer and contractor following. Prestige utilizes state-of-the-art technology and custom-designed equipment in their manufacturing and support systems, which enables them to meet each customer's specific needs-now and in the future.
