While the Canadian driver has already clinched the 2019 World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series Rookie of the Year title, he has his sights set on another major goal this weekend.
“We want to win this weekend at Charlotte. We’ve been so close to getting to Victory Lane with the Outlaws this year, and it would mean a lot to be able to finally do it this weekend on such a big stage,” Weiss said. “We’ve had a dream year, but we want to win a race with the Outlaws to take that momentum into the short off-season.”
Entering this weekend’s Can-Am World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina), Weiss currently sits fifth in the latest series standings. However, he’s only 32 points out of the second position.
“Every lap of every race this weekend is going to be crucial because there’s going to be a lot of great cars there, and our point’s battle is extremely tight,” Weiss continued. “We have the team to get the job done. We just have to capitalize every time that we are on the track.”
The weekend opens on Thursday night with two rounds of qualifying, which will set heat race lineups for Friday and Saturday’s programs. Each program awards full points and posts a $12,000 top prize.

Bacon Hits the Century Mark for 2019 at Oval Nationals this Weekend
Lonnie Wheatley, WINCHESTER, Ind. (November 7, 2019) – An active season of racing for Brady Bacon culminates with a final few weeks in California and Arizona during the month of November.
And it starts with this weekend’s USAC National Sprint Cars “Oval Nationals” at California’s Perris Auto Speedway on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Thursday lidlifter will mark “The Macho Man’s” 100th race of the 2019 season.
The Oval Nationals is one that Bacon expects to contend for the win in aboard the Hoffman Racing / Mean Green No. 69 Sprint Car.
“We feel good about it,” Bacon says. “We should have ran third last year and ran short of fuel. We won’t let that happen again.”
Bacon was right in the mix in Wednesday night’s practice session, finishing out the night third on the speed charts with a fast lap of 16.373 seconds.
The two-time USAC National Sprint Car champion enters the weekend sixth in series points and only 24 markers out of third. Along the way, he has captured four series wins and has finished among the top-ten in 25 of the most recent 26 feature events.
Bacon’s most recent action was the USAC Midgets “Jason Leffler Memorial” at Wayne County Speedway in Wayne City, IL, on October 17.
After a strong heat race run aboard the FMR No. 76e, qualifier race woes mired Bacon in the 17th starting position for the feature after winning the “B” Main. Bacon rallied through the field to post a seventh-place finish.
“We came through the field about the best that we could have,” Bacon explains. “There wasn’t a whole lot of racetrack left to work with by that time, so we were pleased with what we were able to do.”
Now, Bacon shifts his focus to this weekend’s Oval Nationals.
Brady Bacon Racing is bolstered by the support of partners including Mean Green, Fatheadz Eyewear, Imperial Wagyu Beef, Gene Franckowiak, Drivewfx.com, Tel-Star Technologies, B&S Cattle, Lykins Oil, Elliott’s Custom Trailers, Triple X Race Co., Hoosier Tire, XYZ Machine, Factor4, Heath Clips Lawn Care, FK Indy, Engler Machine and Tool, FK Rod Ends, Keizer Wheels, Purple Heart Foundation, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Smiley’s Racing Products, DMI, Walker Filters, ProGlide Coatings, Chalk Stixx, Wilwood Engineering, Lajoie Seats, Smith Precision Products, Allstar Performance, Simpson Racing Products, Driver Websites, Schroth Racing, Saldana Racing Products, KSE Racing Products, King Racing Products, Schoenfeld Headers.
