Ashton Winger Stays Red-Hot with Michael Head Jr. Memorial Win
Pockets for $5,054 Paycheck for Senoia Raceway Triumph

HAMPTON, Ga. (08/31/21) – A rain delay nor a talented field of competitors at Senoia Raceway on Saturday night could slow down Ashton Winger’s hot streak. The Georgia racer took his E-Z-GO No. 12 Dekalb / Johnny Doan Plumbing/ Keyser Manufacturing/ XR1 Rocket Chassis / Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model to victory lane in the 2021 edition of the Michael Head Jr. Memorial.

The $5,054 win was his second of the year at Senoia Raceway and his ninth overall of the 2021 season.

“It seems like I’ve been on the road forever with the Summer Nationals and to come back home and pick up another win, man it’s hard to put into words how great that feels,” Winger said. “(Brandon) Overton turned up the heat late, and just keeping him behind me was a win in itself. We’ve got to get some engines freshened before we race again, so we are on hold for that, but man I just am so proud of our team and the season we’re having. Thanks so much to everyone, who supports this operation.”

Returning to his home-state of Georgia, Ashton Winger traveled to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon for the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned Michael Head Jr. Memorial. In a field of 38 cars, Winger recorded the fastest lap in time trials to pick up the Knowles Races Parts & Bodies Fast Time Award. Starting the feature on the pole, Ashton contained Brandon Overton’s late-race charge in the waning laps of the 54-lapper to secure his third straight victory and ninth overall of 2021.

Winger took the checkers ahead of Overton, Dalton Cook, Payton Freeman, and Oliver Gentry to claim $5,054.
