Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series Postpones Boyd’s and Senoia to April 17-18

BRASSTOWN, NC (March 18, 2020)—Officials with Boyd’s Speedway, Senoia Raceway and the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels have announced the postponement of this weekend’s events due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

With the best interest of the communities, and racing families, and after much consideration and consultation with state and local governments, the decision has been made to postpone the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series events to the new dates which follow:

Friday April 17-Boyd’s Speedway-Ringgold, GA-$4,000 to win “The Shamrock”
Saturday April 18-Senoia Raceway-Senoia, GA-$10,000 to win

Series promoter Ray Cook was optimistic for the future. “Hopefully everything will get back to some sort of normalcy between now and then and when we get back to racing, it’ll be full blast,” stated Cook.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will now open the season on Friday April 10 at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat paying $10,000-to win followed by the “Bill Corum Memorial” on Saturday April 11 at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway paying $21,000-to-win which is co-sanctioned with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series.

World of Outlaws Postpones Late Model Events at Volunteer, Cherokee

CONCORD, NC — March 18, 2020 — On Monday, March 16th, President Trump and the White House Coronavirus Task Force issued new guidelines, including asking Americans to further curtail events and increase social distancing for a 15-day period running through Tuesday, March 31st to help “slow the spread.”

After much consideration and in cooperation with our tracks, World of Outlaws events scheduled during this period have been postponed.  It is our hope that we will be able to reschedule the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series races originally planned for Friday, March 27th at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN and Saturday, March 28th at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.  The World of Outlaws will continue to monitor developments across our nation and make decisions on future events when appropriate.

We would like to thank each and every one of our fans, competitors, tracks and partners for their support during this time.  Our staff is working around the clock to keep our fans informed, engaged and entertained during this break in the action, but ultimately, we will go racing again, just as soon as we deem possible.
