Mason Zeigler Races to Top-10 Finish in the Dirt Late Model Dream
Firecracker 100 Weekend at Lernerville Up Next

Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania (06/12/19) – Mason Zeigler rolled into Eldora Speedway over the weekend, where he piloted his MS Shock Therapy No. 25z JLE Industries/ Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model to an eighth-place finish in the Dirt Late Model Dream finale.

“I wish we could’ve started closer to the front, so that I didn’t have to use my stuff up on the way to the front of the pack. To have such a good run at Eldora after limited starts this season, it’s a major confidence boost,” Zeigler said. “I hated getting together with Kyle Strickler there. I had committed to the corner and he changed lines, and it was just a racing deal, but man I hate it crashed him and Earl Pearson Jr.

“I’ve got to thank my crew guys Buck and Brian because they work their tails off and this thing has been super fast this year. I’m super stoked for the rest of the year.”

Thursday night found Mason Zeigler in action at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) during the opening round of the 25th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream. With a stout field of 92 Super Late Models on hand, Zeigler improved four spots in his heat race to record a runner-up finish behind Jonathan Davenport. Starting the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature in eighth position, Mason crossed the finish line in the ninth position at the end of the 25 lapper.

Returning on Friday evening for another round of preliminary features, Mason grabbed the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race, which positioned him 19th on the starting grid for the show. With $10,000 on the line, Zeigler battled the handle on his No. 25z to a 22nd-place finish.

For the final night of the 25th annual Dirt Late Model Dream on Saturday evening, Zeigler came up one spot shot of a transfer spot in his heat race with a 4th-place finish. Streaking to a 20-lap consolation race victory, Mason earned the 19th-starting position for the $125,000-to-win finale.

Breaking into the Top-10, Mason Zeigler passed 11 cars in the 100-lap affair to finish eighth.

The World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series weekend features $6,000-to-win programs on Thursday and Friday, respectively. On Saturday night the weekend draws to a close with a $30,000-to-win finale.

From Indiana to Illinois – Speedweeks Continue for Cannon McIntosh!

Lonnie Wheatley, BIXBY, Okla. (June 12, 2019) – A fast-paced summer of Midget racing action continues for Cannon McIntosh and the Dave Mac Motorsports Toyota-TRD Spike No. 08 team this week.

After taking in his first edition of USAC’s Indiana Midget Week, a couple of short days off leads into this week’s Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League Illinois Speedweek.

With the Wednesday opener falling victim to rain, the remaining four races of the week gets under way at Brownstown’s Fayette County Speedway on Thursday before moving on to Jacksonville Speedway on Friday, Macon Speedway on Saturday and then concluding at Lincoln Speedway on Sunday.

“We came close a couple of times last week, hopefully this week we can get at least one win or two along the way,” the 16-year-old commented.

While McIntosh has raced at all but Macon Speedway, last week was a different experience with the young racer taking on five new racetracks in the Hoosier State before the Sunday finale at Kokomo was rained out.

McIntosh fared well on the new ovals, racing from 21st to 12th in the opening leg at Montpelier and then posting a pair of top five finishes in the final four rounds including a close runner-up finish at Gas City I-69 Speedway and then a fifth-place showing at Lawrenceburg Speedway.

“It was a fun experience, we learned a lot about our strengths and weaknesses,” McIntosh comments.  “We struggled on two nights, but I’m happy with what we did.”

While he posted his best finish of the week at Gas City, McIntosh found Lawrenceburg to his liking perhaps the most.

“The top was a long way around but really fast, and the bottom was good too,” McIntosh says.  “There were two completely different driving styles you could use there, it was fun to race on.”

Of the tracks remaining on this week’s Illinois Speedweek slate, McIntosh has only raced this season at Jacksonville.  On that night, he charged into a prime starting position for the feature event before April showers washed out the feature event.

McIntosh will be looking for victory lane over the next four nights in Illinois.

Along with Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the 2019 Cannon McIntosh slate of events possible includes Sanders and Associates, Car and Fleet, Mobil 1, Speedway Engine Development, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication, Darling Ingredients, PJ’s and Hinds Family.
