Brown Goes To Town at SMS
Saturday night, August 9th 2008 South Mississippi Speedway welcome the Crate Late Models to its regular racing program. In the Crate Late Models feature event the #R14 of Tracy Brown topped the thirteen field taking his second SMS win of 2008. Brown was followed by the #22 of Jamie Smith and the #27 of Danny Joe Thomas.
The #02 of Bubba Trotter took the win in an exciting street stock feature event. Williams was the leader in the early laps before exiting the track with mechanical troubles on a restart. In the closing laps of the race the #20 of Stacy Herron pulled along side Trotter to battle for the lead but Trotter edged out the win. Herron finished in the second position with the #0 of Bill Pulliam rounding out the top three.
The #23 of Kent Woods took the win in the caution filled UMP Modified feature. Woods was followed by the #41 of Bennie Spicer Jr. and the #42 of current point leader Lance Broadus.
The #25s of James Woods continued his winning streak in the Pure Stocks feature event. Woods was followed by the #29 of Greg Williams and the #55 of Gary Joiner.
The #D5 of David Necaise took the win in the Stingers feature event. Necaise was followed by the #33 of Mike Cannette and the #17 of Nick Politi.
South Mississippi Speedway will be back in action on Saturday, August 16th, 2008 with a regular racing program featuring heat and feature races in the stinger, pure stock, street stock, UMP modified and crate late models.
