In 1988, Carnell moved into the UMP Super Late Model division at Clarksville Speedway and finished in the top 50 in UMP National Points every year until 1998, when he started traveling. Parker raced with the Southern All Star (SAS) Super Late Model Series and finished 8th in the final point standings in 1998.
In 1999 Carnell raced with the Battle of the Bluegrass Super late Model Series and finished in the top ten in the final point standings. Parker spent 2000 to 2004 following various series and competing in various unsanctioned events. In 2005, he raced at Clarksville Speedway each week in the Super Late Model class, where he won the Track Championship.
The 2006 season found Carnell following the complete StormPay Crate Late Model National tour, and he finished 8th in the point standings.
In 2008, Parker traveled throughout the Southeast as well as competed at his home track. He collected several wins and top five finishes along the way.
The 2009 season proved to be a trying time for Parker as a mid-season wreck left him severely injured when his #75 Super Late Model flipped at Boyds Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia in a Southern Regional Racing Series event. The freak accident left him with several injuries including fractured vertebrate and a dislocated neck. Amazingly, by the end of 2009, Parker was cleared by doctors to return to action in 2010.
