History:
Kyle got his first taste of driving a race car at the end of the 1999 season, when he hot lapped his Father's (Gary Beard) Open Wheel Modified at Poinsett County Raceway (PCR) in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Kyle was only 12 years old, but he knew that racing was something that he wanted to do. As a result, during the off-season, his Father, Gary, built him a Super Street car to run at PCR for the 2000 season. A lot of people didn't like the idea of Kyle racing with them, since he was only 13 years old, but he soon earned a great deal of respect as he began out-running racers, who were more than twice his age. Kyle raced in the Super Street division for four years, racking up a total of 9 feature wins.
At the end of the 2003 season, Kyle jumped behind the wheel of a Super Late Model for the first time. With only one night of Super Late Model racing under his belt, Kyle entered the Cow Patty 50 at PCR, and made the starting grid for the 50 lap main event against a solid field of Super Late Model competitors.
In 2004, Kyle began racing Super Late Models full time. He won several heat races and finished 2nd in the final track point standings at PCR. In 2005, Kyle's home track dropped the Super Late Model Class, so he began racing in the Super Street Class again.
The 2006 season found Kyle piloting an Open Wheel Modified, and while he enjoyed some success in the division, he just didn't enjoy the class as much as the Super Late Model division. Kyle ultimately ran a Super Late Model, six times in 2006, and came away with a feature win and five top ten finishes.
Due to Kyle's desire to race in the Super Late Model division, the team purchased a GRT By Frye for the 2007 season. Kyle competed for the Arkansas Motorsports Professionals (AMP) title in 2007, and fell just short of his goal as he finished 2nd in the point standings. Kyle was also awarded with the 2007 AMP Late Model Series Rookie of the Year Award for his achievements. Kyle also competed with the MSRA Super Late Models when AMP wasn't racing, and despite missing a few events (due to scheduling conflicts) still finished
8th in the 2007 MSRA point standings. When Kyle wasn't racing with the AMP & MSRA tours, he was traveling to new facilities and battling against many of the best drivers that the country had to offer. Kyle made the starting grid for some of the nation's toughest events including the Cotton Pickin' 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi and the Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi.
The 2008 season will once again see Kyle Beard & Beard Motorsports traveling to regional and national Super Late Model events. The team is uncertain whether or not it will follow any one series for 2008.
